Test types

The SCB-Expert Testing Center carries out the following types of tests:
1. Electromagnetic compatibility testing (EMC testing):

Electrostatic discharge immunity test (IEC 61000-4-2)
Electrical fast transient immunity test (IEC 61000-4-4)
Surge immunity test (IEC 61000-4-5)

Voltage dips, short interruptions and voltage variations immunity tests (IEC 61000-4-11)

Power frequency magnetic field immunity test (IEC 61000-4-8)
Immunity to conducted disturbances, induced by radio-frequency fields (IEC 61000-4-6)
Test for immunity to conducted, common mode disturbances in the frequency range 0 Hz to 150 kHz (IEC 61000-4-16)

2. Mechanical loading testing:

Test Fc: Vibration (sinusoidal) (IEC 60068-2-6)
Test Ea and guidance: Shock (IEC 60068-2-27)
Test Eb and guidance: Bump (IEC 60068-2-29)

3. Environmental immunity testing:

Test N: Change of temperature (IEC 60068-2-14)
Test B: Dry heat (IEC 60068-2-2)
Test A: Cold (IEC 60068-2-1)
Test Db: Damp heat, cyclic (12 h + 12 h cycle) (IEC 60068-2-30)
Test Z/AD: Composite temperature/humidity cyclic test (IEC 60068-2-38)
Test Ca: Damp heat, steady state

4. Electrical safety testing:

Dielectric test
Insulation test
Tests for protection against access to hazardous parts indicated by the first characteristic numeral (IEC 60529)
Tests for protection against solid foreign objects indicated by the first characteristic numeral (IEC 60529)
Tests for protection against water indicated by the second characteristic numeral (IEC 60529)

5. Lightning surge immunity test; Switching surge immunity test (Railway signaling and telecommunication systems protection against lightning surge and switching surge. Impulse excitation characteristics of the Railway signaling and telecommunication).
6. Functional safety testing of the railway signaling and telecommunication systems (IEC 61508-1… IEC 61508-6)

7. Testing of low-voltage surge protective devices (IEC 61643-11)

8. Testing devices of protection against pulse overvoltages in low voltage power distribution systems (IEC 61643-1)
